Terms & Conditions
- Definitions This agreement is between Chaincraft
(UK) LTD., hereafter called "The Company" and the
purchaser of the customer. The goods to be supplied under the
agreement are to be made specifically for the customer and consequently
cannot be used elsewhere.
- Condensation The customer acknowledges that condensation is dependant upon a number of variable factors, some of which may be favourably affected by the installation of double glazing and some of which may not, and the company therefore does not guarantee that the installation of double glazing will affect the incidents of condensation.
- Glass The glass used is of merchantable quality and considered fit for the purpose intended and the company will not except liability for imperfections of a minor or insignificant nature. (As per guide lines laid down by the glass and glazing federation). Glass is for looking through not at. Blemishes or scratches should be viewed directly from two metres in natural light.
- Sound Reduction No specific representation regarding performance of double-glazing should be made, it being agreed that a certain sound reduction can be expected.
- Product Demonstration windows, doors and other products are used to demonstrate the working of a typical product and its composition and are sample products only. the windows or other products detailed in the schedule will be manufactured and installed by the customer using such manner and materials as the Compnay considers suitable and, pursuant to the Companys' policy of continuous improvement of the products, the Company reserves to itself the full right to make any modifications in design, specification or composition as it shall think fit.
- Cleaning and Maintanance It is recommended that frames supplied by the Company should be cleaned with warm soapy water at regular intervals (generally not exceeding 2 months). Hardware (hinges, handles etc) should be lubricated not less than once a year. Failure to carry out these points will affect your guarantee.
- Guarantee The PVCu product is guaranteed for ten years and the sealed units five years but this guarantee is invalidated if the materials have been misused, abused or neglected or if full payment has not been made.
- Payment Terms At the time of entering into this agreement a deposit equivalent to 30% of the price stated together, with the VAT payable thereon at the prevailing rate. The balance of the price stated, together with the VAT payable thereon at the prevailing rate, is due and payable ten days prior to delivery. The purchaser shall not be entitled to withhold payments by reason of alleged minor faults. The Company will investigate any alleged defects within 10 days after payment in full of the balance payable.
Balance of payment can be made in cash, bankers draft, building society draft or credit card. Payment by personal cheque must reach us 10 days prior to delivery to allow bank clearance of such monies.
- Cancellation This is a binding Contract, not subject to cancellation. If cancellation is requested and agreed by the Company, a charge will be made for work already incurred. Such decisions shall be made at the sole discretion of the Company after a 7 day cooling period from the date of contract signing.
- Law Nothing in these terms affects the Purchaser's statutory rights.
- Credit Card Payment Any DIY
conservatory payments made via credit cards will incur an
additional 2.5% charge.
